Westwood North Village is a community in the Westwood district of the City of Los Angeles, California, USA.
It is roughly bounded by Gayley Avenue on the east and north east, Veteran Avenue on the west, and Kinross Avenue on the south. It is a residential area that houses a majority of apartment buildings and condominiums. To the east, just across Gayley Avenue, is the cinema and retail district of Westwood Village.
Most of the area is used by UCLA students as an alternative to on-campus housing. While, on some streets, it can be quite peaceful and noise-free, those streets closest to the UCLA campus tend to be noisy, with cars, pedestrians frequently passing by and parties happening on Thursdays and Friday nights, especially on "Frat Row" near Gayley Avenue.
Apartments here are very expensive, and tend to have the highest rent costs in the Los Angeles area. Diligent apartment/room searchers may find rooms available for rent in fraternity houses, particularly those that have lost their fraternity charter. These former frat houses often rent to both males and females at a considerable discount.
